Shoprite and Stauch Voster Architects chose to use ThermocousTex foil faced flap joint in an over purlin application as the product has verified Green credentials. Another concern was noise and thermal comfort whihc ThermocousTex met. The finish is a white foil faced finish that does not attract dust and has a good light reflectivity to reduce electricty bills.

Datlink Insulation came second in the ABSA energy efficient afforable housing competition with a 75% social acceptability on the house. The products used were, InnoBlok Insulated Walls, innoFilla Floor Insulation, and ThermocousTex Insulated Ceiling Boards.
The house is is about 30% more efficient than the NHBRC reference house, and comes in at a cheaper rate.
